Bio?inspired hybrid <scp>BFOA?PSO</scp> algorithm?based reactive power controller in a standalone wind?diesel power system

With an increase in the penetration of renewable energy sources such as wind into power systems, operation and control voltage/reactive have become more complicated challenging than ever. As a result, reactive imbalance between generation demand instigates reduction system voltage stability. To deal with aforesaid scenarios, automatic regulator (AVR) static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) are incorporated to curtail deviations standalone wind-diesel system. In this article, hybrid bacterial foraging optimization algorithm-particle swarm (hBFOA-PSO) algorithm is proposed for optimizing PI controller parameters AVR STATCOM further improve performance. Additionally, H?-loop shaping technique designed analyze performance indexes (ie, robustness stability) presented aim handling unstructured uncertainties from loading situation. order present efficiency controllers, hBFOA-PSO compared BFOA, PSO, modified grey wolf (MGWO)-based controllers same The dynamic responses different disturbance cases been investigated MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
